qualifications
I have 18 years of television production experience which includes eight years of directing live television news, sports, music, political and financial programs. I have ten years of television management experience. I have produced, directed, wrote, shot, edited and posted my own shows. I have launched three shows on ESPN. I have set up bureaus and orchestrated coverage of several major news events. I have directed more than 7500 newscasts and specials as well as supervised several production staffs and always stayed within budget.

As Production Manager for ENL, I oversaw the studio and control room for the Tulsa headquarters. Supervised technical staff for ENL bureaus in Washington, DC, Houston, Texas and Sacramento, California. As director, I called and punched 4500 plus live newscasts. “Energy News Live” was an internet news network that focused on any and all energy industry related news of the day.

1992-2000 - - Production Manager, KJRH-TV, Tulsa, OK
I oversaw a department of 24 production department employees. Department employees were directors, technical directors, audio operators, Chyron operators, floor directors, studio camera operators and TelePrompTer operators. I was in charge of budgeting, scheduling as well as producing and directing special projects.

1991-1992 - - Senior Director, KTUL-TV, Tulsa, OK
I directed all prime time newscasts.

1989-1991 - - Producer/Director, Winner Communications, Tulsa, OK
I produced and directed “America’s Horse” and the “Wrangler World of Rodeo” on ESPN. I also directed the first 125 weeks (starting in 1988 while at KJRH) of the “Budweiser Thoroughbred Digest” also on ESPN. My duties for “America’s Horse” and “The Wrangler World of Rodeo” included producing, directing, shooting, editing, writing and posting.

I directed all prime time newscasts as well as all special programming.

Weekend director and weekday technical director for newscasts. Directed public service programs as well as produced 24 hour live telethon coverage for MDA Telethon.

Started out as studio camera operator for newscasts. Moved to audio operator and eventually promoted to evening technical director.

Worked for NBC News Channel in St. Louis during the Pope’s visit to America in 1999. Lighting Director. Provided lighting for NBC affiliates and O&O’s, MSNBC and CNBC.
